WSRPD Mission Statement
"The purpose of the West Side Recreation & Park District is to provide a well-rounded, wholesome program of leisure time activities for people residing in the District.  This may be accomplished by acquisition and development of park and recreation center areas, the development of supervised programs, construction and management of recreation facilities, and cooperative efforts with other agencies in the areas in which they provide like services."

West Side Recreation & Park District has an opening for a part-time office position.  18-24 hours per week.  $10.33 per hour.  Customer service and computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft programs, are required.  Application available at the District Office, 500 Cascade Place, Taft or online at www.wsrpd.com.  All applicants must complete a District application form.  Applications close at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 and may be submitted in person or via email at steph@wsrpd.com. Fingerprint clearance is required upon offer of employment.


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of an unscheduled vacancy on The West Side Recreation and Park District Board, and the Taft City Council is seeking applications to serve on the Board of Directors for a term that expires on December 31, 2015.

The appointment shall be made by the Taft City Council pursuant to Section 5783.5, California Public Resource Code at the City of Taft regular Council Meeting on February 3, 2015.

All applicants shall be registered voters and reside within the City of Taft at the time of filing a letter of interest for appointment. Appointees must remain registered voters residing within the City of Taft during the entire term of the appointment. Candidates are advised that a Statement of Economic Interests Disclosure will be required upon assuming office.

All individuals interested in serving on the West Side Recreation and Park District Board should submit an Application for Appointment to the City Clerk, City of Taft, 209 East Kern Street, Taft, CA no later than 5:00 p.m., Friday, January 23, 2015. Applications can be found on the city’s website – www.cityoftaft.org or picked up at Taft City Hall.

Payments made after the specified due date or registrations taking place after the specified deadline are subject to a $5 late fee.  Registration after deadlines is not guaranteed.

**Payment for all activities, classes and programs is due BEFORE the start of the activity (this includes monthly classes).  If no payment has been made, participation will not be allowed.
