At West Side Recreation and Park District Preschool our purpose and philosophy is to provide a developmentally appropriate program that promotes the development of children's social, emotional, cognitive and physical skills.  Special attention is given to children's individual learning and creativity.

Our goal is that each child's first school experience will be a positive one.  Our curriculum encourages language development, problem solving and social awareness in a small group setting. 

Our preschool is located in the Community Center Activity Building at 500 Cascade Place in Taft. We operate on an open-door policy, and parents are always welcome.  We also encourage parent participation, such as bringing snacks, helping with parties, and field trips.



We have 3 classes for ages 3-5 years.  Our Tuesday/Thursday class has two sessions-9:00-10:30am or 11:00am-12:30pm.  Our Monday/Wednesday/Friday class is for ages 4-5 years and meets from 9:00-11:15am.

Remember preschool fees are due by the 10th of each month.  You can save 10% if you pay bi-monthly ahead of time.  Payments received after the 10th will incur a $5 late fee.

We still have several openings in our Tuesday/Thursday class, call (661) 763-4246 today for more information about fees or come by the District Office to register your child for preschool.  Scholarships may be available for those who need financial assistance.

TODDLER TIME CLASSES

Toddler Time Classes are designed for children ages 2 years and up, accompanied by an adult/caregiver.  You will spend some fun time with your toddler participating in a variety of activities.  Registration is separate for each session of Toddler Time.  Sign-up for as many as you wish!  A minimum of 5 paid children is required for each session. 

Session 5: February 17-March 24, 2010
EASY AS ABC
$25.00 per student
All activities & fun will focus around the first three letters of the alphabet.

Session 6: April 7-May 12, 2010
ON THE FARM
$25 per student
Your chance to be like a farmer- grow a crop, learn about animals & more!
